There's something spiritual for me about the Southwest and I love doing photography there. The rust-colored rock formations take amazing forms like works of art. It's a place where native Americans predominantly influence the culture as evidence of old dwellings and Kivas (sacred spaces) are all around. The golden light accentuates the color of near red rocks against green sagebrush. The sun plays its part as it dances behind rocks and lights the desert in dramatic ways. We were able to raft the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. Many of these photos are from that assignment.
